For those with any form of religious belief you are invited to register your religion here on the Register of Religions. Once a religion has been registered here it will be issued with a Certificate of Registration and assigned a unique Religion Reference number recognising its registration here within the United Kingdom and membership continues on an annual basis.

The Ministry of Religion administers the Register of Religions for the benefit of all people of the United Kingdom.

Register established religion

If you are an established religion and wish to register on the Register of Religions and become a member without using our template form religion then you will need to ascertain the status of your religion and you will need to provide us with the information below in order to undertake the relevant checks required for registration.

Processing Fee
£300

The fee for applying and processing an application will be £300 and if further information is required we will correspond with the nominated person regarding the application.


If the application is successful then the religion will become a member and be registered on the Register of Religions and you will then be charged an annual fee of £79 each year to remain a member and maintain the religion on the Register of Religions.
