Create and register a religion
If you are starting a new religion and wish to take advantage of our model form, the process is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. Once your application and payment have been processed, you will gain prompt access to a package of materials, helping you establish your religion swiftly and confidently. Our team aims to process applications efficiently, ensuring you can focus on developing your community and practicing your beliefs without unnecessary administrative hurdles.
The process to create and register your religion is very straightforward. You need to complete the information required in the boxes and make payment of £99.
In applying, you will become a member of the Ministry of Religion and your religion will remain registered on the Register of Religions subject to your continued membership which is renewed annually.
You will then be charged an annual fee of £79 each year to remain a member of the Ministry of Religion and maintain the religion on the Register of Religions.

If your application is successful you will receive:
A unique certificate of registration of your religion; (see example)
This is the official certificate which confirms that your religion has been registered on the Register of Religions.
Your unique religion reference number;
This is the unique number assigned to your religion and is your official reference number for the Ministry of Religion.
A copy of the governing document of your religion; (see example)
The governing document you will adopt and sets out the rule of your religion and how it is going to be run by you in the future and a copy of all your beliefs.
A copy of the terms and conditions of membership;
These are the rules of how your membership works with the Ministry of Religion.
You will then be charged an annual fee of £79 each year to remain a member of the Ministry of Religion and maintain the religion on the Register of Religions.

Once a religion has been registered here it will be issued with a Certificate of Registration and assigned a unique Religion Reference number recognising its registration here within the United Kingdom and membership continues on an annual basis.
